-Donnie was on top of the world, but he refused to think about resting on his laurels.
He ended a champion’s 8-month run and longer victory streak. He is currently OCW’s representative double champion. It wouldn’t take too much to take all of it, all over again.
But this time, the first test, albeit non-title, would be held in New Orleans, Louisiana. Donnie’s first kick at the can as champion would be against someone who is regarded as a veteran and a well-respected individual...
So. Fucking. What?
Donnie Harris has no worldly idea who Heath Johnson is. Even as he does his research, there is no real mention of who Heath Johnson is. As far as Donnie was concerned, the real legends are the ones wrestling now, who have been with OCW since its opening day. This “Outlaw” was just another body with the sentience to read and sign a contract; jobbers do that too.
Good for you, buddy.
Donnie wasn’t going to take the challenge lightly though. Anyone put in his path, no matter who and no matter what, had to be good enough to be considered worthy of testing his skills. Even if it was the entire roster of jobbers all at once, clearly they had to be worthy enough to have a kick at the can; it’s just too bad that they’d be kicked in the can swiftly.
This Heath Johnson though, he seems to be another story entirely. After all, it’s enough for the match to be at the same level of Donnie’s match with Ally Calaway. And, as he watched his match on the replay, as well as when he got to his hotel room at the Hilton Riverside, he heard the commentary team call him the “bad guy”. He laughed so hard that he actually fell off the bed.
While, yes, being the “bad guy” in Ally’s story was certainly bound to happen, the fact that he got a Scott Hall comparison over guys like Sid or Diesel after all those powerbombs was hilarious.
However, even as he watched the feed, rewinding to watch and see where he can start making his improvements, like not having a bunch of random and stupid musical instruments dangling around the ring, his mind kept going back to Toxicita’s use of Asylum, or, rather, Asylum’s use of Toxicita.
He could not understand what the hell was going on; Heath may take that back seat until the final minute, even as Donnie went to the gym, emphasizing his cardio. And, even with his legs burning with exertion and his chest weighing heavier and heavier because of the exhaustion he inflicted upon himself, Toxicita’s new “business partners” were not exactly the most trustworthy sort; Donnie knew it wasn’t about trust anyway.
Asylum was in it for only two people’s success: the success of Nox Von Anna and the success of Zephyr Draven. Then again, it’s not like they were actively after the tag team titles anymore... are they?
Whatever; it shouldn’t matter. He had a distinct target: Toxicita. Wait, what? No.
The target is Heath Johnson. Heath is the one who is facing him at Battleground. Heath is the opponent that Donnie was given to show off his abilities as champion. After all, if Donnie couldn’t beat Heath, how would he prove to be an effective champion?
He would be chaff to be gathered and burned if he lost to Heath Johnson, whether Heath is as big a star as billed or not.
Donnie froze on the stationary bike that he was riding, his frame of thinking halting him; it took the rough smack of someone actually waiting for the bike for him to get jogged out of his reverie. He apologized and cleaned the seat before moving on to a bench, to sit and think a bit more.
Toxicita was, unironically, poisoning his mind. It was the same thinking that he had come into the business with: if you can’t hang, be hanged; only the strong survive and he is strength.
With time having gone by, with the support he has now, with the therapy he has received, Donnie had become much more moderate. His thinking was different, because he was given a chance to grow up, quite a bit, in the business; so was how he did that said business.
Donnie still played the no-nonsense character, that anti-gimmick, because it felt right. It felt good. However, Toxicita standing against the established “star”, it resonated much too easily, and he didn’t like that at all.
After showering at the gym and getting back to the hotel room, Donnie started to ponder dinner. Flipping on TikTok on his phone, he looked blankly at the screen before hitting the record button...-

Now, I’ve been to the gym, and my muscles are fucking burning, but nothing is burning me hotter than this challenge that Toxicita has thrown down to the entirety of the OCW roster, just at Battleground. Girl, you crazy; watching BRADDOCK humble you may be the best thing to happen, and I will make sure I will be at least behind the curtain to see how that goes. As everyone knows, Heath Johnson is going to be my problem that night, so you’re going to have to be on the back burner, and that’s until that bell rings and the ref raises my hand. Yes, Heath, I said MY hand.
-Donnie takes a second, breathing heavily as he recovers from his workout.-
)Donnie Harris(
But I don’t know you, so this will be our introduction to each other, Heath. It will be very nice to meet you. I am Donnie Harris. I am one of OCW’s originals, and I am OCW’s Anarchy Champion. I am also the PWA Streaming Service champion, which may explain my usage of TikTok, but that’s neither here nor there in my mind. We will be here, in New Orleans, Louisiana, in the match before Toxicita and BRADDOCK; I’m sure we will prove that we should be the main event, and not GOTH vs. Blake Anderson. However, this is not the time for me to talk about you. I still need to address the problem that is this demand for better.
-Donnie sighs and groans a bit.-

Toxicita, you’re calling for damn change and it’s the first show. Are you serious right now? I honestly don’t get it, and I’m certainly confused about your alignment with Asylum suddenly. Asylum is seriously the most flip-floppy little pair that I’ve seen on the roster. Right now, they’re working with you. Before you, it was Konstantine. Before you, it was the man you are facing: BRADDOCK. It’s funny that you call me out by name; yes, he beat me twice, but I still wore his fat ass down to the nub. You had the unintentional assistance of a big empty head. You had help from Leviathan, long before Asylum decided to weasel their way in. Considering the name of your own finish, you should really read between the lines yourself: Asylum is probably going to use you too. The minute your strength wanes, the minute your Alpha claims fall through, your little wolf pack will be totally meaningless; they will leave you in the dirt, maybe even under the dirt, and you will be alone. You will be as alone as BRADDOCK, as Konstantine. Your claims for the world title, which still belong to me, as there has been no named #1 contender other than myself, will be as meaningless as your relationship with Asylum as it stands. I’m sure you’ll build them up and yadda yadda yadda, but think about how the only push they’ve gotten is by siding by the actual bad guys. It goes to show that I’m not the bad guy here, and I don’t need the support of a pair of coyotes that feast on scraps. I can’t even call Asylum hyenas, because at least hyenas can kill lions. How does it feel to be Scar, Toxicita? Well, I’m sure you’ll find out on your own.
-Donnie goes to close the TikTok video, but he hesitates.-

You know what? This is going to be a longer video; I don’t care. Heath, I know I didn’t talk about you enough. Let’s face facts as they’re presented, shall we? You are being put in my way by Britlyn, not to test me, but to test you. Are you worthy enough to bear the OCW standard in any way, shape or form? Probably not, but this is where we’re going to find out. I’ll deal with Toxicita another time, because I know she’s going to be around for a long while; she’s going to Liv this out and give us all trouble, no doubt about it. However, you? You’re green now. You’ll make me look like a seasoned vet and, by the time Battleground comes around, I’ll be sure to put you in a body bag and deliver you to the morgue personally.
-Donnie closes the TikTok recording and posts the promo. He didn’t know what to make of Toxicita at this moment, but she was planning on a roster cleansing; maybe Donnie will have to step in and remind her that she is just as susceptible to being shit out like the rest of them...-
