Ashes 2 Ashes was a success for the one of the biggest signings of 2024 known as "Ring Master" John Blaze. He was focused on his next match which was for the Rebellion Championship. The EPW star knew all about Blake Anderson and respected the hell out of the man. It was going to take the best performance of his life in order to achieve the biggest victory of his life. However, before he made an appearance at The Moda Center in Portland, Oregon the rising EPW star was set to make an appearance on the show Flashback Friday. It was a new show that refused to cut corners and would get to know a star deeper than just beyond the mat. The program is built to speak about the past, present and future. So as he prepared himself at home waiting for the zoom session to start the lights kicked on. He started to sing.
I was blinded by the light.
When he focused again though he sees an EPW official looking at him.
EPW Official: "Ring Master" John Blaze. I know we have some serious stuff to discuss but I think that first of all I have to ask. How is the family? Also how does it feel sitting before me a winner and earning a Rebellion Title shot.
Ring Master John Blaze: You know family and friends are a huge part of my life. I would be lost without them. Every time we hang out it's like the holiday Christmas party. Who doesn't love seeing Uncle Jimmy pull his teeth out and gum the mash potatoes. Then you have Aunt Joan who always pinches cheeks and proceeds to leave lipstick marks all over your face. My clan is always trying to outdo one another. My cousin Daquan ends up shirtless dancing on the table to "Don't Stop Believing". Even the cat gets involved! Look at this video.

I really need to train that cat to have manners. However, instead I decided to try to out perform everyone and yes there is a video of Ring Master making a fool of himself.

That's right. Ring Master always does his best. The family and guest always get a laugh. I don't even need a drink I'm just pure entertainment. Even after all that we even had grandma get involved. She rides the dog around like it's a damn horse and eventually he just lays down throwing her off gently. So, the power of positivity happens when the Blaze family gets together.
He cleared his throat and gets a glass of water before he continues on.
When it comes to getting a Rebellion Title shot tickle me impressed. I mean that from the bottom of my heart because I never expected to get this opportunity. Yes I won my match but I didn't flex my muscle to management to get this match. I've always allowed the actions to speak and this is what the results will be every single time. I've had marquee matches throughout my career but when the card was released and I saw Blake Anderson my heart stopped. I've never competed against high-class competition like I will at Battleground. I'm truly looking forward to shocking the world once again.
EPW Official: I'm glad to hear your family is a huge part of your life. In fact you would probably say they are the reason you've been successful in the past. You never back down from a challenge no matter the odds. That being said let's discuss Blake Anderson a bit more. The guy has been "lacking" on his responsibilities of being a fighting champion that we expect from everyone here. When you look at the obstacle in front of you what can you take from your past experiences in this industry to try and pull off what most would say is a miracle and beating Mr. Anderson.
Ring Master John Blaze: Everyone has victories in life. All of us struggle to stay on that high and not have a drop just based on momentum and adrenaline. You see the match at Ashes 2 Ashes took a huge hit on me. My body is bruised in places I never thought could get bruised. However, I'm still enjoying life. as Ring Master, the EPW prodigy. You see for the longest time I did what others asked because I thought it was the best thing for me. I soon realized that I was losing trust in myself and that isn't how the power of positivity works for me. It's about having a F****** backbone and not caring what the critics say or the media because they are going to spin the underdog story however they want. Blake Anderson is getting an edgier Ring Master. The people will know that I mean business. I am not going to be that goofball everyone loves because it got me nowhere! So, the people, this roster and the whole damn world can spread rumors about me and say whatever their heart desires. I am going to shatter all that soon enough. I'm going to look into the eyes of Blake Anderson and beat him at his own game because this industry has taught me a valuable lesson about learning from your opponent and mistakes. Mr. Anderson talks a great game rightfully so but if he was paying attention at Ashes 2 Ashes, he would have noticed that I'm not an ordinary man. I don't say things just to get attention. I say them because I believe them. You want to slap a man in the face and expect them to cave your barking up the wrong avenue buddy boy. My slap game is on point and so will your ass hitting the mat and listening to the crowd pop when i become the NEW Rebellion Champion.
EPW Official: No one will question your passion I promise you that. Are you worried about getting to focused and making a mistake that could cost you the match? It has been a reoccurring problem in your past and I know you don't speak about it often but let's be honest here. Marquee matches have not been good to you.
Ring Master John Blaze: Before I answer let me ask this. Are you the same guy you were last year? I would assume it's safe to say no. That being said the past needs to be left there. I realize it is important and molds us into the entertainers we are today, but I was different back then. I struggled to realize the importance of big matches thinking I had no problem getting more. Then as I got older and the talent level was younger, faster and far more athletic my opportunities dwindled. I need a fresh start and that is what EPW provides for me. My struggle is real I will admit that. However, I chose this path. No one made me. I'm a big boy with big plans and you're not going to stop me from achieving them. The energy I'm feeling right now is awesome. The "Ring Master" John Blaze is the definition of marquee so prepare to be amazed.
The cameras stopped for a moment as Ring Master went to the bathroom. When he came back he kicked his feet up and the cameras started rolling again.

EPW Official: Once again just doing my job but we have heard these things from you in the past. 2024 is a year to get right for you. No one signed you last year because of your demons. How do you plan to keep that under control against Mr. Anderson?
Ring Master John Blaze: Yes, I have a dark side like everyone else. I'm not perfect and have been battling my inner demons for many years. That being said though I feel a change is in order. I try my hardest not to speak badly on my opponent because I was raised with respect. However, I know the intentions of Mr. Anderson is to make me regret stepping in the ring with him. I realize that I'm a huge underdog outside of the EPW universe. I'm carrying not just the fans but this company on my shoulders. In fact, perhaps I will finally let the demonic forces take over. Mr. Anderson can prepare for me all day long every single day until Battleground, but you prepare for evil. You can't prepare for destruction beyond your wildest imagination. He will not be able to tame the monster that has laid dormant forever. Most importantly though for everyone watching across the world and live in person. I will destroy the stereotypes about me. The world will hear Blake Anderson scream. They will understand that confidence has no limits when used for the power of darkness. Things are different because I say they are. Soon enough the smoke will settle, and my hand will be raised as the fans chant my name.
EPW Official: What do you feel the biggest obstacle you have with Mr. Anderson and what's the biggest weakness you want to exploit at Battleground?
He took a moment and thought about the answer. It wasn't an easy one because in the industry weakness is subjective. He leaned forward locking eyes at the screen and spoke.

Ring Master John Blaze: Mr. Anderson is a generic champion to me. The term is not used often because normal folks think anyone can be a champion but I'm here to crush that opinion. A TRUE champion will go out of their way to defend the title and prove dominance. Leave no question that you deserve the title and make others second guess themselves on challenging them. Anderson does not have that effect on people like he used too. He feels entitled and picks when he wants to defend the title because the guy is scared of losing his relevance in the company. Losing the title means he is one of us fighting up the ladder again and he doesn't have it in him to do that. A champion is a leader which we already established Mr. Anderson has failed at that. Things are changing in the company, and he doesn't like them. If I were champion, I would be the first to offer help with the changes and take the lead proving that I'm a company guy first and foremost. Mr. Anderson is going to rely on his experience thinking it won't let him down. He is the type of guy that believes experience is better than the quality of wrestling. I however, say quality over quantity. I believe quality is going to shine in this match with me. His experience will not know how to handle the crisp, fresh, sharp and stylish moves I have. He expects me to be sloppy and make mistakes but not going to happen buddy. You will have to dig deep into your arsenal if you even can which brings me to your weakness.
He paused for a moment.
The weakness of our Rebellion champion is simple. He is old school and never learns any new tricks. In fact, one would say he is nothing but a big old dick wanting to be pummeled into humiliation in front of the sold-out crowd. He is predictable by nature. He believes if it isn't broke don't fix it. Normally I would agree but how about trying to be more professional. You give the EWP a horrible name and no one wants to come here when we have little boy boys like you. Your weakness will be exposed as our match continues. You grow tired and need something to surprise me with. You can't though because your arrogance got in the way. You feel that the moves you have will be enough but 2024 is different. You will need to try harder. You will need to battle not just the enemy but yourself. Doubt will creep in your mind, and it will be at that moment you lose everything.
EPW Official: Thank you for your time this evening. One more question before I give you the floor to cut a promo if you'd like and when you're done the camera will shut off. Are you ready?
He nods.
EPW Official: What is your weakness?
Ring Master John Blaze: I see what you did there. You want me to expose myself on a webcast for anyone to watch and study. I'm not going to give Mr. Anderson anything. If he is truly the great champion I've heard about then he needs to figure it out or suffer the consequences.
EPW Official: Promo time sir the floor is yours.
Ring Master John Blaze: To our Rebellion champion you've heard me say quite a bit tonight. You got to see me outside my comfort zone because that's what I do. I don't like people to guess what I will do. I prefer them to be on the edge of their seat wondering what will happen next. That is the future you have waiting for you. I could list my accolades to you and prove what toughness looks like. However, i don't need others telling my story of greatness I prefer to do that myself. You have a long history of being one of the best, but everyone has a time when the chapter ends. Battleground is the perfect event to shut you down and destroy your reputation once and for all. This event is going to leave you with more questions than answers about yourself and that's why I do this. The joy I get from seeing talents speechless at what I can do earns me respect wherever I go. Keep that in mind for the future because you will be responsible for starting the Ring Master movement throughout EPW.
He stood up as the camera adjusted on the monitor.
The world has enough Blake Anderson, but never enough fun size men like yours truly. The world loves me no doubt, but I need this to solidify myself as a threat to the entire company. Do you understand what happened when you keep something under pressure Mr. Anderson? It explodes and right now the pressure is building up. Soon we will be in Portland, Oregon and there at the final Battleground in the history of the company I will flip the script. I will go against the narrative and take you down without breaking a damn sweat because I'm the Ring Master and I will not be stopped.
He walked away from the monitor as it went black with the words.
"Four days and counting"
OCC: Good luck to my opponent. He is one of the best and gave it my best shot.
