The Rebellion champion John Blaze was in New York city to speak with an executive of Peoples Magazine. It was an honor for him considering the reputation of the brand. So, as he pulled up in a limousine the door swung open, and he walked inside the building wearing a three-piece suit. He was directed to the top floor and entered with proper posture as the executive stood and offered him a seat as the camera started to roll.
People Magazine Executive: John Blaze, thank you for taking some out of a very busy schedule to speak with us today. We have been following your story for a while now and must say it's impressive the little run you are on. Not even some of the greatest to ever do this can say they survived two brutal hardcore type matches to start a career and of course win the Rebellion championship. You then got a week or two off to recover only to get back at it this week. Overall, how are you feeling as the calendar flipped to April are fully recovered and prepared for a fight? Or do you feel like you are going struggle to live up the standards you have for yourself?
EPW Rebellion Champion John Blaze: You know I've always loved People's Magazine for the professional standards they have because it reminds me of myself. I always want to be the best at what I do and want people to be intrigued by what I offer. So, I will always find the time to speak with y'all. Now moving on to your statement about what I've achieved and the hell I went through to earn my Rebellion Championship. I did it to make sure I left no doubt that I'm a fighter and never back down from a challenge. Yes, I did need a week or two but not to recover like the rumors are saying. I had some personal matters to deal with and that will always come first no questions asked. Which means I'm absolutely fine to compete this week. Do I have pain of course but the pain drives me to succeed. It tells me I'm doing everything right in the business. No pain, no gain, right? So, Marc Chambers better be ready to earn his stripes here. This guy needs to show me and everyone here that he is going to stick around. I will never lower my standards for someone else because if I did, I wouldn't be talking to you as the Rebellion champion.
People Magazine Executive: Let's talk about Marc Chambers a little more, shall we? Your still fairly new yourself to this company so are you surprised at all that the company executives would choose you for this match and not someone who is a veteran and might have more to offer them in a match?
EPW Rebellion Champion John Blaze: I hear what you're saying, and I respect the logic behind the question, but truth is does it matter who shows him the way of EPW? No because he is getting experience that will change his career. If anything, the EPW officials were smart to put me in the match with him because two new guys learning together can make for some great television and the higher ratings means more money for the company. I need to be THAT guy who leads by example. EPW wouldn't have given me a championship opportunity if I didn't start at the bottom. Of course, I still have work to do as I want to be the world champion before I retire in this company, but we all have to tell a story in order to get to that point. So, Marc Chambers knows I'm not the biggest dog in the fight, but I am a threat to him becoming successful and that's fine with me. I will push him to no end. It will annoy him so bad that the frustration will show not just physically but mentally & emotional as well. In my opinion that's not a bad thing. It just shows his desire to impress and prove that even a current EPW champion won't stop him from his objectives and in return it makes me give that much more back to the match. I won't be bored and feel like I could be doing something better with my time. I'm a company guy and will do anything to prove that even if that means stepping outside my comfort zone. It will not be easy for the new guy, but it will give him a taste of what is to come and hopefully make him better for the future.
People Magazine Executive: Why do you feel it's important to be a company guy instead of another guy in the back. This industry has a role for everyone so when and why do you feel it was important to be the next EPW company star knowing that you have the least amount of respect among the champions as of right now. Not to mention if Marc Chambers can pull the upset this week it will put him in a good position for a future title match so that has to be in the back of your mind.
EPW Rebellion Champion John Blaze: Of course it is. Going from a contendere to the champion is a huge deal for me just like it will be for anyone in the future. Could Marc Chambers be the better man in our match? Yes, and that's fine but it doesn't mean the better man will win. Perhaps I will be impressed enough to give him a future shot at my title just because I'm a nice guy and believe it the fighting champion mentality. Will the company like my approach? I don't know but they let us take charge of our decisions and own them in the future. They won't want to step on any toes and honestly that's what I love. I will disagree with you about the amount of respect others don't have for me. I've had nothing but love thrown in my direction. They enjoy my fresh approach and creative mind to make others around me better. Will it always be successful probably not. However, I'm never going to stop being a vocal guy and speaking my mind. This is going to be an amazing ride as Rebellion champion no matter how long I'm honored to be champion. Marc Chambers is going to be getting in the ring with me not to be taught a lesson but to teach me one and it's my job to humble him and show why the "Ring Master" is not just a self-proclaimed title.
People Magazine Executive: Last question for you sir. We can all assume that the Rebellion title is just the beginning of a great career for you. That being said how would you feel about breaking the record for longest Rebellion championship reign? Plus, any final words on Marc Chambers?
EPW Rebellion Champion John Blaze: Well, I have breaking news for you. I'm already the longest reigning EPW Rebellion champion. You see we changed brand names a few weeks back and it's been nothing but full throttle since then. The titles might have stayed but the old name was replaced with EPW which makes me the FIRST EPW REBELLION champion. It feels amazing knowing I'm not just a transitional champion but that I'm a marketable person who is only getting stronger by the second.
He cleared his throat.
Marc Chambers is a confident young man. Soon though he will understand just how fast the match moves. It's different when you're in the ring compared to watching film but like everyone else hands-on training is required. Let's see what you have in the tank kid. RPW will leave you behind so sink or swim it's up to you.
The interview ends as the scene fades to black.
