Ch. 04..
As our scene opens up we come to see that of a master suite, larger than most apartments or condominiums. The room can be seen boasting a king-sized bed, a marble fireplace, and a private dressing room that would make any fashionista envious, the dressing room doors could be seen having the initials A.D. inscribed on them in old English lettering.
This room, this room however within Davenport Manor, was more than just a room; it was a symbol of wealth, power, and prestige just as Davenport Manor was a place where dreams were realized and memories were made and was a sanctuary for those who sought the finer things in life.
However, unlike last time when I met with Alexander inside his gorgeous home, this time was different, this time he was having me meet him in the courtyard of Davenport Manor. As the visual of the courtyard of Davenport manor slowly begins to unfold little by little, little is left to the imagination of just how gorgeous the courtyard really truly is..
It can be seen consisting of breathtaking beauty as the scene slowly but maturely unfolds to reveal its true beauty. It can be seen having weathered stone walls, adorned with intricate carvings and ivy vines, whispering tales of a rich past.
It would be at the entrance Iâd come to meet his personal butler Samuel Blaine Van Ackernecht, the very butler who I would love to get a few minutes alone with just to pick his brain and get those missing details about the man he served, but to be honest that seemed like it wasnât going to be the case just like last time.
âGood afternoon Ms. Prentiss.â Van Ackernecht stated in a soft spoken voice as he greeted me, he could be seen dressed in all formal attire, everything he adorned was color coated and matched, not a single thread that could be seen adorned by him could be seen out of place.
âGood afternoon Samuel..â I replied back as I followed behind him as he took me to where the man he served awaited my arrival.
âHere Ms. Prentiss is Master Davenport.â As Samuel said that, Alexander didnât flinch a single muscle, he just continued on standing alone under the gazebo admiring all that was around him.
âSuch an amazing smell wouldnât you agree Victoria?â
âIt is Alexander very much so..â
It was then he turned around to face me looking ever so perfect just like the previous times we had met as he did he spoke again.
âMother and father truly did have astounding taste when it came to designing this place.â
The air appeared to be perfumed with the heady scent of jasmine and lavender, their vibrant blooms adding a splash of color to the serene space that Alexander and myself occupied. Beneath the dappled shade of ancient trees, a mosaic floor depicts scenes of pastoral bliss, inviting visitors to step back into a bygone era.
âItâs such an amazing place Alexander, now I know why you wanted me to meet you here and not inside again..â I said as he stood across from me, just a few feet away, he slowly made his way on over to where I stood admiring the landscape and gorgeous beauty the courtyard displayed..
âJust beautiful..â He said standing next to me, it was then he had turned toward me and tried to steal a kiss, only to have quickly backtrack the gesture to feign his innocence. âIâm sorry, that wasnât what you thought it was Victoria..â
He advised as he looked me in my eyes, it was then I knew Alexander wasnât truly being truthful with me. âAgain Victoria that wasnât what you had thought, it simply was a case of a mistaken course that you thought was going to occur, I had no intention of kissing you if that is what you thought..â
He claimed attempting to salvage the meeting, it was then his butler Samuel appeared, walking over to where we both stood. No longer at the helm of the gazebo, but instead near the fountain, its water murmured softly, as it became the focal point for the courtyard and our interview.
The longer I interviewed Alexander the more I began to wonder was it truly just that of what Alexander claimed it was or was there more to what he claimed? I thought to myself as I stood in standing silence, looking down at the gorgeous water fountain, admiring the gorgeous Koi fish swimming about within it.
Its intricate carvings were a testament to the skill that was put within it when it was designed, Alexanderâs mother mustâve designed it herself, either that or she truly had a notation for fashion, something I truly didnât have that was a fact, but it was something Alexander did seem to have.
âJust astonishing Alexander, this area of Davenport manor truly is, that I will say. However, is there some kind of importance to this area, I mean truly you didnât want me to meet you out here for just this right?â
He smiled as he looked over at me before answering back. âThere is and no, no I didnât Ms. Prentiss, you see like all of this architecture and the beauty that comes along with it, I too am doing that now with the very title I won two weeks prior in that fatal four way dance, it will be I who brings the prestigiousness back to the Fight 4 Championship title and only I, for unlike my opponent Jestyr Seryous this week who won it back in February at Ashes 2 Ashes I unfortunately will not be going down that same pathway he so did in losing it..â
He said as he ran his fingers through his hair looking over at me. Though again it seemed there was much more to the man who had a name bestowed upon him at birth. What was it about him that made me want to know more about him? Was it the way he carried himself? Was it the mysterious way his parents had died that left so many like myself with unanswered questions?
Was it the mysterious aura that emanated around him that attracted me to him or was it simple for the fact we knew nothing about the young man who was bestowed at birth with the title of the âPrince of Emerald Cityâ? One thing was certain and that was this, I like many still had unanswered questions from the young Davenport and that wasnât an opinion it was a fact..
Alexander and myself continued on with our interview late into the afternoon, before once again heâd come to have his butler Samuel escort me back to the entrance where again Iâd be left with unanswered questions. As the soft glow being given off of sunlight that casted down upon me could be felt upon my skin casting a warmth, something I hadnât felt when I was in the presence of Alexander..
âJestyr Seryous weâll meet again this time it wonât be in a match with two other individuals who looked to achieve the same thing I had achieved during that match, there will be no room for excuses, for itâll simply come down to who wants it more..
Who wants it more, will it be the âTinseltown troublemakerâ or will it be yours truly âThe Emerald City Sybariteâ that is the question, now isnât it? You see, unlike you I havenât faced defeat, I havenât had the opportunity to have gone down such a road to where it left me questioning myself.
But, but.. you have my friend. Youâve met failure, hell youâve met defeat before and sure youâve somehow managed to find yourself and regain your composure ONLY to be met with it again and again and again isnât that right Jestyr?
It is that, that right there that separates the TWO of us from one another. Like I mentioned before youâve met defeat whereas I have not and nor do I plan on losing to YOU this time around. You think that was a fluke win, I can tell you and let me reassure you it truly wasnât.
I beat Goth, a man whoâs seen it all within this industry, a man whoâs held championships in every promotion heâs ever been signed to, however much like you he too has met failure, he, like you also questioned himself from time to time something I truly havenât had nor thought to need to do so again I assure you that match wasnât no fluke victory for me..
I can tell you I have heard the stories, Iâve heard the rumors and like the walls of my courtyard here they too had a story to tell from those whoâve come walked through them. Like them they all had history to them and soon.. Soon.. we too will have established a rapport with one another, however OUR rapport with one another will be anything but a friendship.
You see, when I was learning the ropes of this industry my mentor, my friend âThe Beastâ Gabriel Cragen instilled within me something very, very valuable and that is this, a lesson like no other. He told me there are no friends within this industry that is professional wrestling.
He stated if that is what you want and are seeking then you are in the wrong industry for you will not find that here for like you everyone within this industry is out trying to outshine the next person, theyâre there to make a name for themselves, they are theyâre to carve out a legacy that will remain intact for future generations to look back on and be like that, that combatant, that warrior was the real deal.
It is for that reason and that reason alone I will continue to thrive and shine, my victory over you and Goth was no fluke, but a mere reminder to the TWO OF YOU that there is always someone waiting from within the shadows for an opportunity to take and take they will just as I had done on March 27th when the Inaugural EPW Wednesday night Danger had aired..
I took what I wanted and that was your Fight 4 Championship title Jestyr, you see I had my sight locked and set like a sniper waiting for the perfect opportunity to take and like that sniper waiting for the perfect opportunity I too waited and I waited, until the opportunity presented itself to me and it was then I took it.
OUR match on the 24th will be no different, I will walkout victorious once again just as I had previously and itâll be then at that very moment you realize like everyone else whoâll be watching from off to the side that I am not like every other wealthy rich kid whoâs come walking into this industry only to appear and then disappear..
Youâll come to know that this beatdown will not be the same, this beatdown of you will come with a million dollar smile attached to it and then some, something you surely mustâve gotten used to seeing by now, right? I mean seriously youâve mustâve right?
I mean the star you once were had dwindled to nothing but a shell of its former self, only to be relit again and again which is something I must say I do admire about you, buuut thatâll soon change that I can certainly promise you Johnny as that seems to be case for many when theyâve faced failure after failure like youâve done.
Hell, nobody will blame you if you just up and quit or gave up much like you did the reins of your very own promotion before you put the face paint on and took on this newly acquired persona of yours now..
Though I must know what will come next? Will you take on a new identity? A new persona if this new one fails to deliver? Again.. I stand before you with questions for we are different in many ways, but we do share some stuff when it comes to our likeness.
We both have all the characteristics of a human being: flesh, blood, skin, hair; but other than that we share nothing else and when I say nothing else I mean nothing else it is that separates the TWO OF US from one another. Jestyr on the 24th weâll come to meet one another and itâll be then and only then one our FATES will be determined.
One of us will be met with upset and failure while the other is met with triumph and success. Itâll be then and only then that itâll set in that this opportunity weâre being given again was to prove the other wrong.. I will show you that my victory was no fluke and that I will guarantee you..
As like I stated before I am not like some run of the mill wrestler youâve faced in the past. I am not like that piece of shit deathmatch junkie BRADDOCK this place had gotten accustomed to nor am I like any other talent youâve had the pleasure of facing off against in the past.
I am however a Davenport, and not just any Davenport at that, but the third one to have the ALEXANDER DAVENPORT name bestowed upon me like my father had before me. Unlike you Jestyr my friend the name bestowed upon me is a name that you in the end will not nor ever forget and that is something I donât just promise you I can damn well guarantee you..â
As the camera feed slowly begin to end as I pulled out from within the gated driveway of Davenport Manor looking in my rearview mirror, I would come to see Alexander emerging out from within the courtyard with a devilish like grin, he knew exactly what he was doing and knew the role all too well or so it seemed the more I had thought about it, the more it began to make sense to me, it was just that a role to him that he was playing and not just any kind of role but that of the main role..
Each line he had fed to me seemed to perfect, it seemed rehearsed and for all I know each word he spoke could have been just that rehearsed, I mean after all he did come from a well known family within the entertainment industry and one that was highly regarded and well respected within that of Hollywood and those within it..
I only could think to myself as I pulled out onto the main road leading away from the Davenport mansion, was the case with Alexander here? It surely seemed that way, I mean it seemed like every question I had asked him during the interview, he always seemed to have an answer for..
Could he have been playing me like that of some movie role part he had been casted for, but he wasnât an actor, he was just some rich kid whose parents were when they were alive..
One thing was certain, I wanted answers and I hadnât gotten them, I didnât get them last time and I surely didnât get them during today's interview with him. How could I get the answers I seeked and wanted to know and then it hit me, his butler Samuel Van Ackernecht was the answer to my problem..
Van Ackernecht was the man who seemed to be the solution to the missing piece of the puzzle here. If anyone had any dirt or knowledge of anything about the young millionaire it was him forsure..
âHeâs my answer Iâve been looking for this whole time..â I spoke out loud to myself as I continued down the road in my vehicle. The more I thought about it the more it made sense to get an interview with Van Ackernecht, but how was the question that remained.
It wasnât going to be exactly easy, that was a fact considering the man he served was always never too far away from him. âHmm..â I thought, how could I make it happen was the question. I knew deep down Alexander wasnât going to just hand him over to me and let me ask the old man without him being present and that was a fact as he, even Samuel never stray too far from one another and when they did it was only for a short period of time..
