They say that we have to come to terms with things as they come. Things have been fast lately. Rosa and I adopted little Aerilyn from China and I retired from wrestling. You know what they say though. When you were meant to do something the itch is always there. So here I am returning to EPW in a match against Destiny Michaels. Destiny is someone I respect majorly and a great way to step back between the ropes.
I paced back and forth as I rocked Aerilyn a little bit. Rosa was in band practice and it was my turn on mommy duty. I think I need to stop dying my hair so she will recognize me. The door opened and shut as Rosa slammed her keys on the counter beside me. “There’s my girls.” she said as she kissed Aerilyn on the forehead and we locked lips.
“Hey babe, how was practice?” I asked as I looked at my sweat drenched wife. I knew she always jumped around on stage.
She looked at me with a wink as she wiped sweat from her brow. “It was crazy but wait until you see what we have planned.”
We supported each other. Me with her music and me with my EPW career. I had dropped my commitments down to be a mother but EPW was home and I had unfinished business. That business continued as I stepped into the ring with Destiny Michaels.

“Destiny means different things to different people. What does it mean to you Miss Michaels? It is my destiny to rule the ring as the Dictator of EPW. So many times I have been overlooked, and passed over for guys like Donnie Harris. Don’t get me wrong. Donnie and I are friends and I respect him but that’s for another time. While I have respect for you as a talent I feel like, as a person, you’re quite shitty. I am ready to shut you up, quite possibly for good. Your career lies in MY hands. I always get what I want and you can look at the Hernandez family for proof of that. One year I’ve been doing this and I am a household name, even in semi retirement I was talked about. Whether it be for what I do on the football field every weekend or what I did in the ring. I am someone who is respected. I am someone who is feared. I am your dictator so bow in my presence, peasant.”
I began pacing as my mouth drew up in a snarl. I shook my head back and forth in a disappointed manner as I spoke again.
“To me, destiny is this business. Destiny is overcoming adversity time and time again. Destiny is falling, picking my beautiful ass back up, and trying again. We have all lost in this business. We aren’t defined by our losses. We are defined by how we recover from them. I turned to SYNN, I turned to voodoo when all I really needed was to dig deep within and see that I’ve got me. Rosa has my back. Together she and I are a team and our bond is what brings me back. Our daughter is what motivates me to fulfill my destiny. Quite simply put Miss Michaels… your destiny is cut short on Danger. Our paths are crossing for a reason and I am going to show you why I am the Dictator. I am going to show you, quite frankly, why you should be relegated to dark matches and pre shows. Mere months into my career I was holding the second top prize in a historic company in OCW. When SYNN and I came here the wresting world was abuzz for me and…”
I paused and looked down.
“… I failed. I haven’t lived up to the hype that preceded me. That isn’t SYNNs fault. That isn’t Britlynns fault. It’s my on fault. I can blame no one but me and that means I am going to take control of my own destiny. I am going to fight my own fight. I’m not doing this for EPW. I’m not doing this for the fans. I’m doing this for me and my family. Destiny enjoy your last few days of relevance. I will be damned if I allow you to make a name at my expense. I am not your queen. I’m your dictator and you will respect me as such.”

I laid in my bed, tossing and turning. My nightmares had been bad ever since I was in the voodoo forest. Madame Babineaux may not be by my side but she still had a hex hold on my psyché. I shot up, panting worse than a dog in heat, as Rosa rubbed my back.
“Babe, she’s gone. She can’t hurt you anymore.”
I looked down at Rosa, the black blanket covering the curves of my nude body, as my panting slowed. I nodded as I answered her. “It’s not her harming me I’m worried about. It’s her getting to you or Aerilyn. I’d never forgive myself if I allowed anything to happen to either of you.”
Rosa kissed my cheek as she replied in a calm demeanor. “Brooke, I can fight my own fight if she decides to try. Aerilyn and I will be in the stands watching your match. You need to focus on Destiny. Both the opponent and YOUR Destiny. You need to get back on track and I just know you will. You are beautiful, talented, and smart. Plus you are flexible as hell.”
She winked at me as she kissed me and turned the light off as the scene faded to black.
